Description
The
Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing business growth efforts on behalf of the company.

Duties include conducting market research to identify new business opportunities and client leads, coordinating with company leadership to conduct risk assessments and maintaining beneficial relationships with clients, suppliers and other business partners.


Job Requirements:


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Grade 12
  • More than 5 year's working experience as a commercial manager or similar
  • Valid driver's license
  • Sound Knowledge of accounting / stock management
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent leadership qualities
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills
  • Team orientated, with strong relationship building, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Display good organisational skills, implement management techniques to control allocated resources
  • The ability to work well under pressure, outside the box thinking

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • General
a) Works with other department heads to determine company goals and KPI's

b) Manage the commercial function ensuring high quality commercial activities with maximum quality, service and profitability for the organization

c) Effective liaison, support and assistance between commercial department and rest of organization

d) People Management

e) Participate in audits


  • Business Development
a) Mastermind business growth strategies to help meet organizational goals and objectives

b) Build and nurture client relationships in order to continue winning new contracts

c) Attend networking events and build industry connections in order to facilitate business growth

d) Conduct market research to inform strategic business decisions

e) Oversee branding and marketing endeavors to ensure all efforts are aligned with business goals


  • Tender Management
a) Managing Tender Invitations on various online and offline portals and company internal systems

b) Populate customer provided tender documents and Tenders submission cover letters

c) Calculations for customer provided tender documents

d) Population and submission to online platforms of various customer documentation required for onboarding or as pre-requisite to become a vendor

e) Reviewing various contracts, framework agreements and call-off forms

f) Meeting with customers and suppliers to discuss tender clarifications, draft contracts, etc.

g) Managing tender documentation in a timely manner, ensuring tender deadlines will be met

h) Managing tender awards and company order books


  • Contracts Management
a) Managing contracts and services in accordance with company policies

b) Preparing and negotiating the terms and conditions of contracts

c) Preparation of various contracts

d) Meeting with customers and suppliers to discuss business and legal matters

e) Approving all contract and contract management materials

f) Ensuring all contract documentation is up to date

g) Ensuring contract compliance with the company's policies and procedures

h) Informing internal and external stakeholders of the status of contracts

i) Investigating and addressing contract issues

j) Resolving legal disputes


  • Procurement Management
a) Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective

b) Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors

c) Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms

d) Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility

e) Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers

f) Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services

g) Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements

h) Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

i) Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods

j) Preparing procurement reports


  • Facility Management
a) Responsible for the upkeeping of the company head office
