Fivewest OTC Desk is a dynamic and innovative force in the foreign exchange and crypto markets.

The cornerstone of our trading operations is our over-the-counter (OTC) desk, which stands as one of the largest for crypto trading in South Africa.

We are looking for a talented senior trader with experience in foreign exchange or commodities to join our team.


About the role


As an OTC Trader at Fivewest, you will play an integral part of our trading desk, responsible for executing trades in OTC foreign currency, crypto (spot) or derivative markets.

You will need to leverage your market knowledge, analytic skills and risk management expertise to optimize trading strategies and contribute to the overall profitability of the desk.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute trades in OTC derivatives, commodities and other financial instruments according to established strategies and risk parameters.
  • Monitor market conditions, analyse market trends, economic indicators and news events to identify trading opportunities and make informed decisions.
  • Manage trading positions and risk exposure effectively, ensuring compliance regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
  • Manage the trade execution process, including trade confirmations, settlements and reconciliations.
  • Implement and enforce risk management strategies and controls to mitigate market, credit and related risks associated with the trading desk.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a primary point of contact for OTC trading inquiries and requirements.
  • Maintain and foster relationships with counterparties, brokers and other external stakeholders.

Requirements:


  • Bachelors degree in finance, economic, mathematics or related field. Masters degree or relevant professional certifications (eg. CFA, FRM) preferred.
  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as an OTC trader or in a similar trading role within the financial industry.
  • Experience in crypto markets is a bonus.
  • Indepth knowledge of OTC markets, derivative products, trading strategies, and risk management techniques.
  • Proficiency in using trading platforms, risk management systems and financial software.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fastpaced trading environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Fivewest offers a market-related salary from R Cost to Company per month. The amount offered is negotiable and will be dependent on qualifications, experience, and other market-related factors

From R30 000,00 per month
