We have offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg (South Africa), Berlin (Germany) and Philadelphia (USA).

AMANDLA currently has 9 operational sites nationwide and is currently rolling out more exciting infrastructure projects nationwide. The Set-Up & Construction Department is responsible for land acquisition, development planning, infrastructure design development, construction execution and maintenance.

JOB SCOPE


As a Project Manager at AMANDLA, you will hold responsibility for the management, coordination, and implementation of cross-functional infrastructure, program, and product development projects that align with our commitment to sustainability.

Your role will coordinate the implementation of cross cutting projects, including Product Development, Sustainability and Innovation & Digital.

There is room for expanding interests into other types of projects focusing on other areas of township development within our hubs.


Core duties and responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate projects from design to delivery, ensuring the successful implementation of projects.
  • Prepare briefs and accurately relay relevant information to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) Director, project owners, and functional directors in a dynamic and supportive environment to maximize the success of projects.
  • Prepare and revise project timelines with project team members, partners, and stakeholders, considering the specific requirements and milestones of projects.
  • Coordinate project team members for appropriate and efficient resource allocation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Keep partners informed of progress and major milestones throughout projects, managing expectations and ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues related to projects, in collaboration with the project team and partners.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and meet the specified scope and environmental sustainability objectives.
  • Report project statuses and provide recommendations for optimizing future projects to the PMO Director.

CORE COMPETENCIES, ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS and PREFERENCES

Education/Equivalent:


  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in sustainable development, or a related field (Advantageous)
  • Relevant professional qualifications in project management, preferably in Agile

Experience/Skills

  • 3 5 years Project or programme management experience preferably with a focus on development projects.
  • Experience in consulting
  • Experience in both agile and traditional project management approaches
  • Experience in virtual/digital team management
  • Proven ability to execute crossfunctional projects successfully
  • Ability to resolve problems in a timely and consistent manner
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
