DevOps Technical Specialist - Centurion, South Africa - Momentum Corporate

Role Purpose
To ensure system stability and availability, through monitoring, automation, release management and incident response management, across both production and non-production systems.
Requirements:
years of experience in a DevOps or Developer Role
- IT degree or relevant qualification
- AWS certification preferred
- Experience with Linux, UNIX and/or AIX operating systems.
- Experience in automation and continuous integration.
- Knowledge of DevOps
- Experience with the following tools., Jenkins, Nagios, Grafana etc.).
- 2 3 years experience in Software development and scripting (e.g. Ansible, bash, terraform etc.).
- 2 3 years experience with large IT systems and operations (understand the link between operations & SDLC).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the infrastructure is kept up to date as the stack evolves and enable stability and resilience in all environments by troubleshooting existing problems and suggesting solutions.
- Use Continuous Integration processes, tools and execution.
- To ensure fast and effective resolution of system issues across all environments. Production and nonproduction systems.
- Providing secondline support across all environments.
- Monitor all the systems across all environments and react to alerts.
- Maintain and improve deployment pipelines with the use of related technologies and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Nagios, Grafana etc.).
- Establish and monitor performance levels of systems using tools like Nagios, Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana
- Maintain and improve the monitoring of systems.
- Release management process
- Assist in the Change management process for all developments.
- Assist stakeholder/team on standby.
- Strong grasp of automation tools and technologies.
- Analysing trends to assist in any upgrades according to best practice. E.g., troubleshooting
- Oversee upgrades, patching, and installations across environments.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders.
- Continuously develop own expertise in terms of professional, industry and legislation knowledge.
- Contribute to continuous innovation through the development, sharing and implementation of new ideas.
