Restaurant General Manager


Summary:


Key Responsibilities:


Leadership and Team Management:

Lead, motivate, and train the restaurant staff, including servers, kitchen staff, and support personnel.

Set performance expectations and provide regular feedback to employees to enhance their skills and improve performance.

Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and employee growth


Customer Service Excellence:


  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided to all guests, handling complaints, and resolving issues promptly to guarantee guest satisfaction.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the overall guest experience and maintain high standards of service.

Operations Management:


  • Oversee the daytoday restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and quality control.
  • Monitor food and beverage preparation to maintain consistent quality and presentation.
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards.

Financial Management:


  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve financial targets, including revenue, cost control, and profitability.
  • Monitor and analyse financial reports, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Menu Development and Pricing:


  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and update menus that align with the restaurant's concept and meet guest preferences.
  • Determine pricing for food and beverages that ensures profitability while remaining competitive.

Marketing and Promotions:


  • Plan and execute marketing initiatives and promotional events to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Utilize digital marketing and social media to increase the restaurant's online presence.

Compliance and Regulations:


  • Ensure compliance with all local health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and licensing requirements.
  • Maintain records and documentation necessary for legal and regulatory compliance.

Staff Development and Training:


  • Identify training needs for employees and conduct training sessions to improve skills and knowledge.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience in restaurant management, with a track record of success in achieving financial targets and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent problemsolving abilities and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage trends, and a passion for the restaurant industry.
  • Familiarity with Pilot pointofsale systems and restaurant management software.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the business.


The Restaurant General Manager plays a critical role in the success of the restaurant, and their ability to lead a motivated team, deliver excellent customer service, and manage all aspects of operations efficiently will contribute to the restaurant's long-term growth and success.
