    This role is responsible for the delivery of the financial accounting/ control function in the organisation through other managers and their teams. Carries overall responsibility for the preparation and quality of financial accounts and maintenance of financial records over periods of 3 months to 1 year.
  • Carries overall responsibility for the preparation and quality of external and internal reporting for the Life business unit in compliance with IFRS as well as Group policies and methodologies.
  • Responsible for the financial management of the Foundation Market business unit.
  • Contributes to and implements financial strategy.
  • Assists in deciding on the financial and business viability of new and existing projects and programmes.
  • Analyses financial records such as income and expense trends and recommends solutions where appropriate.
  • Plans and prepares budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Monitors actuals vs budgets vs prior year vs forecast and provides business insights regarding the drivers of performance.
  • Analyses and monitors the effect of budget, policy and/or business changes on business unit productivity.
  • Responsible for Internal and external audit liaison as well as tax, legislative & statutory requirements.
  • Effective implementation of internal controls.
  • Monitors and manages tax risk for the business unit.
  • Maintains effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Effective people management.

    • Requirements

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant.
  • 4-6 years post articles working experience.
  • Very strong technical knowledge and practical application of IFRS standards and tax legislation.
  • IFRS 17 and Life Insurance experience will be advantageous.
  • HFM & Oracle knowledge and experience.
