MAINTENANCE MANAGER (FOOD INDUSTRY)

Overview:

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for optimally managing the company maintenance department and its resources, maintaining equipment availability and performance in line with optimal production efficiency.


Duties:


Plan and arrange a schedule of maintenance and repairs according to Scheduled, Planned Emergency, Life Cycle and Preventative Maintenance programmes.

Maintain production equipment availability and performance through the planning, scheduling, coordinating and reporting of repair activities.

Develop a layout of the plant, its respective departments, engineering rooms and machinery.

Coordinate priority setting with the management team.

Liaise with Factory Management teams regarding production schedules and output requirements.

Identify reliable suppliers and contractors, negotiate and action service level agreements.

Ensure that tools and equipment for efficient performance.

Management inventory and essential spares availability.

Ensure effective and cost-efficient maintenance of equipment, machines, building and plant.

Work with HR to monitor and review team's KPIs.

Ensure that staff is allocated with and wear the necessary PPE.

Ensure timeous response to unplanned/emergency breakdowns.

Prepare maintenance budgets for CAPEX expenses.

Report to management on monthly departmental progress and expenditure.

Ensure health and safety compliance and assist with health and safety requirements for the company.

Comply with food safety policy and procedure requirements:
Ensure maintenance team understands policies and procedures as per the training procedure.

Participate in food safety meetings.

Contribute specialist knowledge in terms of equipment and work practices.

Ensure that relevant procedures for the PRP's are carried out by the technical team.

Complete monthly PRP audit corrective actions timeously.

Ensure that recommended action plans are implemented to improve food safety risks.

Ensure the completion of documents and records for your department as required by the food safety team.


Requirements:

Trade tested Millwright.

Good electrical and electronic skills


PLC's:
Siemens, Allan Bradley

Proven food or related industry experience

Minimum of 5 years' post trade experience

Good computer skills:
MS Office and Pastel Partner


Remuneration:

R400k CTC negotiable
