Factory Manager, MIDRAND-GAUTENG


Experienced Factory Manager required to manage the factory of a well established
PANEL VAN / MOTOR CONVERSION COMPANY based in Midrand.

Ensuring the efficient operation thereof, overseeing the floor manager/ managers and the various departments within the factory. Ensure the efficient operation of the production process, liaising with the planning department and managing all the factory staff.

MUST have good communication skills and be able to work under pressure,
MOTOR INDUSTRY EXP ESSENTIAL.

Areas of Responsibility:


  • To ensure that the Factory is operating at the required level and is meeting the expectations laid out in company values and operating standards.
  • Implementation of the production schedule to achieve the scheduled deadlines and time frames, giving feedback to the planning department when necessary
  • Working with the various departments assisting the Floor Manager and Supervisors to understand and implement policies and procedures and goals
  • Work with the Floor Manager and assist with unresolved production issues, escalate as required
  • Ensuring the Health and Safety guidelines are understood and implemented
  • Manage the flow between various departments
  • Identify requirements and devise plans to improve productivity, increase and maximise workforce or employee productivity ensuring that the teams are delivering the desired results.
  • Uphold agreed company discipline, operating standards and procedures,
  • Reviewing worker performance and identifying training needs with Floor Manager and HR
  • Monitoring levels of overtime and casual staff
  • Issue warnings and escalate any issues to senior management that are beyond their scope.

  • Ensure that all people using equipment or machinery have been instructed in the correct way to use the equipment and use the prescribed safety equipment
  • Be able to create a work environment in which people will choose to be motivated, contributing, engaged and happy.
  • Planning and managing the night shift process
  • Be available to open or close factory on weekends when necessary
  • Control and coordinate the manufacturing process to ensure orders are produced efficiently, on time and at the correct and consistent level f quality.
  • Making sure all employees within each department, as well as between departments, work as teams towards a common goal.
  • Ensuring that staff adhere to company procedures and policies and follow the company's guidelines

  • Min 5 Years Factory Manager exp within the Motor Industry
  • Van / Vehicle conversion exp advantageous
  • Excellent Technical knowledge
  • Production orientated
  • Drivers Licence & own reliable transport
  • Willing to be on call on weekends /open and close factory if needs be
  • Reliable and honest
  • Good communicator and motivator

Salary:
R30, R35,000.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Midrand, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
