Role purpose:


Your responsibilities will include:

Support, assist and implement security strategies and controls for mobile and fixed networks, satellite network security, cloud, and IoT services
Assess and manage cyber risk across the organization, including identifying and analyzing potential cyber threats
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and industry associations, to ensure compliance with regulatory and compliance frameworks
Manage the delivery of security-related projects and initiatives, including scoping, design, delivery, and review
Ensure appropriate documentation is in place for all security-related processes and procedures, including policies and standards
Provide leadership and guidance to junior members of the cyber security team


Technical / professional qualifications:

Matric / Grade 12 essential
3 year Degree\Relevant tertiary qualification in Information technology
Minimum of 8 + years of experience in Cyber Security role where you meet business deliverables.


Desired:
An industry certification e.g. ISO 27001 Lead practitioner, DEVSECOPS, CCSP CGEIT, CRISC, CISA, CISM and CISSP is strongly preferred.


Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

Expertise in 5G and 4G Security, OpenRAN, Open Source Security platforms, Fiber Technologies, and Mobile Encryption capabilities

In-depth knowledge of RAN and Core Mobile Network technologies, 3GPP standards and technologies, and NFV services, including virtualization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenStack.

Experience in project management and delivery
Strong understanding of cyber risk management and security frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and analyse complex issues
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and manage teams effectively
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Strong knowledge of satellite network security.
Strong knowledge of mobile and fixed networks, satellite network security, cloud, and IoT services
Familiarity with South African regulatory and compliance frameworks
Strong understanding of cyber risk management and security frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
An ability to think strategically and drive change
A deep understanding of Tech Security risks and mitigating solutions

A diverse security background with knowledge in several areas including layered security architecture; internet protocols; firewalls; VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, network access control and network segmentation, anti-malware and spam technologies; risk and vulnerability assessments, and compliance.

Security concepts related to DNS, routing, authentication, VPN, proxy services and DDOS mitigation technologies
Windows, UNIX and Linux operating systems
Web Application Security & Encryption
Ability to build and manage highly motivated and innovated technical/extended team
