Relevant Degree/Diploma in Health & Safety/NEBOSH preferrable

  • 5 years experience as a SHE Manager in the Food Manufacturing industry essential
  • MS Office skills, excellent Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of relevant SAP modules
  • Working knowledge of SAMTRAC, ISO 45001, 14001, 9001 and Incident Investigation
  • Providing highly recognize health and safety expertise to high level decision makers in the form of reports, analyses, recommendation, presentation in support of a longterm strategic direction
  • Compile SHE management system strategic plan
  • Adjust the SHE strategic plan, when require, to align to organizations strategic targets and local legislation
  • Structuring the health and safety to provide the capacity to achieve the strategic requirements by ensuring that the structure is effective, efficient, and competent, no wastage of resources within the operation
  • Implementing and executing strategic health and safety plans, goals, and targets by ensuring safety planning is aligned with the operational plans Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to all Health and Safety regulations
  • Scanning the health and safety environment internally and externally for opportunities, threats and risk and providing solutions in accordance with the analysis and outcomes through usage of strategic framework
  • Managing health and safety projects effectively by identifying, defining, and planning with due regards to inputs from interested and affected parties, obtaining necessary regulatory approval, scoping projects, and procuring finance and services
  • Compiling and managing the budget by identifying future needs related to historical and current trends and assumptions
  • Analyse all SHE compliance audit and submit written analysis on audits to Sec. 1
  • Manage internal and external audits through scheduling and analysing of outcomes and lead the implementation of action to rectify nonconformances
  • Submit written action plan to address non
- conformances that have been identified

  • Monitor action plans submitted to ensure closure of nonconformance
  • Aligning the operations health and safety activities with legal and other statutory requirements by ensuring the operation is compliant with national legal and other requirements, new developments are interpreted, and strategies devised to ensure compliance without significant fiscal impacts to the business and status of legal compliance is audited
  • Facilitate the scheduling of visibility leadership walkabout and analyse SHE records to identify areas for improvement
  • Participate in risk assessments and investigate and take appropriate actions as per identified risk
  • Present monthly SHE stats and chair management review meeting as per planned interval
  • Compile a SHE annual report
  • Manage planned task observations to ensure compliance to SHE plans and review reports
  • Draft and implement training needs analysis
  • Lead accident investigations, review accident investigation reports and present findings to relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Continuous monitoring and enforcement of PPE and workplace inspections
  • Manage refurbishments and improvements of facility
  • Develop planned and preventative maintenance plan for equipment and facilities
  • Compile and present quarterly facility report
  • Monitor and control Industrial Effluent discharge
  • Water sampling
  • Waste Management and control
  • Analyse and monitor water Consumption
