    The role of the Product Owner is setting, prioritising, checking and accepting the work of the technology, design and business teams (internal and external) as it relates to the proper functioning of the Trace Academia platform.

    As Product Owner, you will gather feature requests, schedule releases and coordinate sprints. You should be able to identify user needs, understand business value and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases.

    Your effort is critical to Trace Academia as you will need to deliver a product that engages users and makes our vision a reality.

    Job activities

    CUSTOMER

    o Serve as the voice of the customer by understanding the target markets in detail.

    o Work with MDs, research agencies and UX researchers to uncover customer insights, needs and feedback to constantly improve the product.

    o Collaborate, leverage CRM and Data teams to translate insights into product requirements.

    PRODUCT

    o With the MD lead the product design process including Product Vision, Strategy, Features and Prioritisation based on an intimate knowledge of the users and technology.

    o Collaborate with the MD and service teams to develop a detailed Product Roadmap.

    o Assess value, develop cases, and prioritise Epics and User Stories to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value and aligned to the product strategy.

    o Develop, own and execute the Product Roadmap as a living document.

    o Translate Product Roadmap into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.

    o Work in an Agile environment and continuously review the business needs, refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks.

    o Work in close collaboration with the Technology Partner to ensure delivery against agreed features and timelines.

    o In consultation with the MD, solve product related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards deliverable commitments.

    o Prioritise and maintain the sprint backlog, balancing the requirements of stakeholders.

    o Develop and maintain appropriate tracking and reporting of the product development process.

    o Provide support to internal teams through a detailed understanding of the product, platforms and technologies (e.g. LMS, Vimeo, Youtube)

    GROWTH o Define and execute a go-to-market/launch plan, working to ensure that all teams have what they need to be successful.

    o Develop and maintain appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance post-launch to evaluate future investment.

    o Collaborate with Data, CRM and Marketing teams and provide input to acquisition, growth and usage campaigns.

    Ensure delivery of agreed technology requirements

    Grow registrations and usage of the Trace Academia product

    Increase customer satisfaction with the product features and functionality

    Requirements

    SKILLS REQUIRED

    Hard skills

    Understanding and knowledge of Product Management processes.

    Excellent understanding of technology and application architecture

    Detailed understanding of modern software development packages including, but not limited to, Python, Django, Flutter, Ruby etc.

    Agile and scrum methodologies.

    Digital product knowledge.

    Ability to use modern productivity tools including Google Suite, Jira and Slack.

    Soft skills

    Self-starter and entrepreneurial.

    Customer centric mindset

    Excellent organisational and project management skills.

    Outstanding communication, collaboration and interpersonal abilities.

    Experience

    Minimum 5-years experience in a similar position.

    Experience as a Developer, Systems Architect or similar technical role.

    Full stack development experience

    Proven experience in developing and launching digital products

    Experience working with 3rd party technology partners.

    Experience using modern digital productivity tools (Jira, Google Suite, Slack etc.)

    Training/degree level

    Ideally a bachelor's degree in computer science, technology or digital.

    Product Owner certification highly advantageous.

    Agile training and certification advantageous.
