Role Description

Job Purpose:

Maintain & manage all finance & accounting operations and prepare forecasts and financial reports.


Reporting

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly management accounts with supporting commentary
  • Preparation of budgets & forecasts and report variances
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Support monthend and yearend close process
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage & maintain working capital and preparation of cash flow projections
  • Manage and comply with local government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Assist with preparation of the annual audit file in line with audit requirements
  • Assist with costing and pricing workings and exercises
  • Prepare and process monthly journals
  • Assist with cost saving initiatives
  • Assist with B-BBEE compliance

Minimum qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) SA or and Computer literate, administratively strong, attention to detail
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Word and the normal office Windows packages

Newly qualified CA or 1 -2 years' experience in a similar role.


Core skills needed:


  • Strong computer knowledge including, but not limited to Sage or SAPP and Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate to advanced spreadsheet based skills).
  • Have a strong analytical mind that is efficiency and solutions driven.
  • Ability to manage a team.
  • Ability to set deadlines and achieve them.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy knowledge.
  • Great organisation skills and problem solving abilities.
  • Must be organized, able to multitask & have good time management skills.
  • Critical analysis.
  • Understanding of the nature of data.
  • Securing and safeguarding, information and data in both a digital and physical environment.
  • Initiative.
  • Ability to design systems and processes.
  • Experience with Sage X beneficial.
  • Experience with robotics automation beneficial.
  • Experience in a logistics environment beneficial.
