- Set up and configure bending machines based on job requirements, including selecting appropriate tooling, dies, and settings.
- Load metal workpieces onto the bending machine and position them accurately for bending.
- Operate the bending machine controls to bend metal components to the required angles and dimensions.
- Monitor the bending process and make adjustments as necessary to ensure accuracy and precision.
- Inspect finished parts for quality and adherence to specifications, making any necessary adjustments to the bending machine settings.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on bending machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues or malfunctions that may arise during the bending process.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Previous experience operating bending machines, preferably in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with different types of bending machines, including press brakes, tube benders, and roll benders.
- Ability to understand and use measuring tools and instruments to ensure accuracy of bends.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in metalworking or related field is a plus.
