Fixed term contract ending one month after the general election in 2024
Events, protocol and logistics coordinator
Cape Town


Ref:

Conceptualising and carrying out events for the Federal Leader in conjunction with provincial and local leadership across the country
Liaising with all Federal, Provincial, and Local structures to ensure that Federal Leader events meet the necessary criteria and are carried out following the necessary protocol
Assistance with all ground operations for the Office of the Federal Leader, including event assessment, transportation of personnel, and general direction of the Federal Leader and his/her staff
Coordination of travel and event itineraries, including the regular updating of event information as and when changes arise


Prospective applicants should meet the following requirements:
National Senior Certificate or equivalent
Relevant tertiary qualification in Event Management or any related field advantageous
5 years' experience in event planning/logistics
Relevant experience in event and people management
Code 8 drivers licence with five years driving experience, with access to an insured vehicle for occasional use
Computer Literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams, basic Adobe Acrobat)
Knowledge of political events and staging advantageous
Knowledge of South African current affairs and liberal philosophy
Knowledge of the spheres of government and the party/political divide
Knowledge of marketing best practice
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organisational and planning abilities
Systematic, comprehensive and displaying excellent attention to detail
Commitment to the principles, policies and programme of action of the Party
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to enforce protocol and standards in a firm but professional manner
Outcomes-orientated, not simply task-orientated
Ability to work effectively and energetically around a demanding work schedule, including working irregular hours on a frequent basis
