Role Description
This is a contract role for a Senior Network Administrator. The Senior Network Administrator will be responsible for troubleshooting network issues, system administration, and technical support. The role will focus on network administration, network security, and ensuring the network meets the requirements of the business. The Senior Network Administrator will be required to work on-site in Johannesburg Metropolitan Area.


Some Duties

  • Administer Client network with some team members;
  • Monitor or setup alerting and react to network outages;
  • Perform system upgrades on network equipment as required;
  • Assist in design work;
  • Security and Vulnerability remediation work where required in the network space; and
  • Be an SME of things network

Expertise Required

  • Checkpoint Firewalls
  • HP/Aruba networking equipment, wired and wireless
  • Solid grounding on routing protocols and low level networking concepts (OSI model)
  • Good communicator
  • Understanding and knowledge of VPN technology and remote working
  • Understanding and knowledge of SD-WAN technology
  • Some exposure to O365 technology, not limited to Exchange Online only
  • Ability to do scripting in PowerShell
  • Some knowledge and understanding of PKI, AD, AAD and Mimecast

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in Network Administration and System Administration
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex network issues
  • Strong technical support skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Expertise in Network Security and Network Monitoring
  • Proficiency in Cisco, Juniper, and other network equipment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or JNCIS would be beneficial

Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary

Contract length: 12 months


Salary:
R40 000,00 - R45 000,00 per month
