Training Officer

Job Purpose
To monitor and facilitate knowledge acquisition and reporting on the effectiveness of

programmes and interventions in accomplishing the long-term skills developmental goals.


Core skills and knowledge

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and Facilitate internal Training to Staff
  • Drafting instructional manuals, onboarding materials, and other relevant documentation.
  • Updating Training Process
  • Facilitating training as and when required.
  • Monthly Induction Training
  • All related Learning and Development administration.
  • Conduct Adhoc training based on a training needs analysis.
  • Maintain training registers.
  • Conduct pre and post assessment for all training delivered to gauge understanding of the product process. Ensure that the results are recorded for monitoring purposes.
  • Review process manuals monthly to check if the process manuals are up to date.
  • If processes are outdated or if new processes have not been added to the process
manuals, the applicant must notify management.

  • Continuously improve the quality of the training delivered and working closely with the
management team to understand gaps within the business unit.

  • Liaising with managers to determine training needs and schedule training sessions.
  • Designing effective training programs
  • Selecting and booking venues
  • Conduct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions etc.
  • Prepare educational material such as module summaries, videos etc.
  • Support and mentor new employees.
  • Keep attendance and other records.
  • Assist with tracking of the training budgets.
  • Conduct evaluations to identify areas of improvement.
  • Monitor employee performance and response to training.
  • Record Keeping of Training
  • Assist with the compilation of Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Reports.
  • Assist with compilation of Training Report.

Qualifications:


  • Matric
  • Training qualifications will be an advantage.
  • Train the Trainer Course
  • Relevant educational and skills development as well as HR qualification or similar 5 years'
- experience as a trainer/facilitator

  • 23 years' experience in Facilitating Training and development of material.

The successful applicant must have:


  • Be fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Have a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Have strong planning, organizing and time management skills.
  • Be able to work independently as well as be a team player.
  • Be able to multitask effectively.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be selfmotivated, by taking an interest in the job, and obtaining satisfaction from the
achievement of a job well done.

  • Workplace Skills Plan/ATR Knowledge
  • Good knowledge of SAQA, QTCO and SETA structures and the Skills Development Act (SDA)
  • Development and Design of outcomesbased training material Knowledge of a Learner
Management System

  • Experience and knowledge of Elearning Experience
  • Strong writing skills and Knowledge of SAGE
  • Presentation skills.
  • Written and verbal communications skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
