Associate: Metrology - Durban, South Africa - Fempower Personnel
Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the position is for the employee to create and maintain a Metrology Lab towards with ISO 17025, Metrology approval system (FSA), Maintain Equipment Calibration & tracking.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow QDMS procedure to approve incoming and in house part according to Component quality guide as per Arçelik Standard.
- Conduct relevant tests as per quality guide & Interpreting data from computerized measuring devices, recommending new standards or testing methods to organizations (IQC) that set industry standards.
- Ensure all measuring & lab testing equipment's are calibrated on time and tracked.
- Periodic checks/verification on equipment's to maintain correct usage in process ensuring that non conformances are raised and closed.
- Conduct MSA (Measurement System Analysis) Studies as per yearly target By HQ and train staff if necessary.
- Ensuring that the QA dept has the correct tools and equipment to measure all required specifications of components making a product.
- Ensuring that we can measure all specifications according to SABS/SANAS/ IEC and Arçelik requirements.
- Creating and maintaining a system that tracks and follows components that are approved.
- Track FSA on components as per Bill of material of final product.
- Evaluate risk and address it accordingly during approval process.
- Redesigns or adjusts measurement capability to minimize errors.
- Directs engineering, quality, and laboratory personnel in design, manufacture, evaluation, and calibration of measurement standards, instruments, and test systems to ensure quality standard of the company.
- Quality Initiatives (Warranty Related).
- Training / Developments: WD's, OPL's, Procedures.
- Assist in component reliability testing.
- Manufacturing related queries on component measurements.
- The employee is not limited to only perform the tasks listed, other tasks that develop which will need to be carried out and completed as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Post matric technical qualification in line with
white goods/Automotive lab environment. - Advanced Excel Skills.
- Understanding of Technical Drawings, Tolerances and Clearances.
- Technical skills to read and interpret data.
- Ability to use CAD software/ SAP.
- Beneficial in understanding of Standards
(ISO /ISO and a Quality Management System. - Ability to carry out statistical Analysis and problem solving, as well as technical problem solving.
- Excellent Communication Skills & attention to detail.
- MSA experience
- Advantageous.
- 6 Sigma methodology experience Advantageous.
- Usage of Computerized Measuring equipment
- Advantageous.
