PURPOSE:
The main purpose of the role is developing, implementing, and improving the health and safety plans, programmes, and procedures at our company.
Reporting to the
SHEQ Manager - The individual is responsible for safety, health, environment, quality, costing, and reliability within the SHEQ department.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Conducting of internal SHEQ audits, safety inspections, housekeeping inspections
- Writing & drafting SHE work instructions, procedures, and toolbox talks.
- Compiling monthly, SHEQ stats
- Conduct SHEQ awareness training.
- Perform incident and accident investigations and quality nonconformances investigations.
- Responsible for coordinating and conducting risk assessments in all plant conjunction with relevant team members.
- Responsible for all records/incidents registers
- Inspection of all plants regarding Health & Safety and machinery equipment
- Conduct daily site visits and ensure all nonconformances are corrected immediately.
- Monitor contractors and service providers safety performance and compile appropriate reports, such as pest control, fire inspections service providers, waste management.
- Ensure that emergency drills are planned, executed, and reported on.
- Coordination of external safety related services liaises with external suppliers on services needed.
- Ensures services are rendered as per agreed service level agreement.
- SHE rep management: Notifies SHE reps for submission of SHE rep inspection reports.
- Assist and guide the Safety Representatives in carrying out their duties and issuing reports.
- Receives and consolidates identified issues for escalation to manager and submission to SHE committee meetings.
- Statutory training schedules are adhered to.
- SHEQ job cards are tracked and are executed.
- Coordinate all surveys such as occupational hygiene surveys, building surveys, signage surveys.
- Inspection of fleet management and preservation, inspections of the stacking and storage
- Quality Assurance Sampling and verification
- Perform sampling and physical testing of finished products and raw materials.
- Manage product hold and release system.
- Identify nonconformances in quality or practices and take or recommend appropriate corrective action within scope of knowledge.
- Keep accurate, complete, and legible quality control records.
- Investigate any quality issues to identify root cause and raise appropriate corrective action paperwork and ensure issues are addressed and resolved.
- Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system.
- Maintain the calibration system, ensuring all equipment is correctly calibrated.
- Support and participate in process improvement activities.
- Write weekly and monthly reports and provide information to management.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- National Senior Certificate
- National Diploma Safety Management
- SAMTRAC or equivalent
- Awareness of ISO 900
- Knowledge and experience fmcg industries
- Min 3 years SHEQ experience
- Understanding manufacturing processes
- Good communication skills (verbal & written)

Salary:
R28, R35,000.00 per month
