Senior Safari Designer - East Africa

Cape Town/JHb

Our Reservations team is growing, and the Safari Designer is one of our key relationship holders in the business. The primary duties for this position would include to ensure seamless reservations for high end travellers through handling Tour Operator requests

Primary responsibilities Manage your desk efficiently covering all areas of responsibility as follows:

  • Develop and manage agent and guest relationships by providing excellent customer service to our agents by highly responsive and suppling detailed, high quality itineraries including our properties as well as preferred partner inclusions where appropriate.
  • Every itinerary must reflect a lot of care and thought, and be a carefully crafted proposal
  • Generate sales with zero errors, and follow up on debtors due.
  • Create and manage the booking process in all systems including Tourplan.
  • Manage role reporting including weekly review of provisional bookings and debtors reports including extension requests.
  • Follow up on quotes and maintain regular communication with agents during this period.
  • Monitor and record reason for unconverted quotes and releases.
  • Provide information to agents and internally within the time parameters required.
  • Work hand in hand with the allocated sales representative, your Team and Team Leader and Reservations Director
  • Manage provisional bookings ensuring yield management objectives are met. Make sure that no duplicate bookings are to be held blocking inventory for other possible sales.
  • Handle customer complaints efficiently and expediently.
  • Refer complaints that could negatively affect the long
- term relationship of either the agent or guest.


Requirements:


  • Matric Travel Diploma Proven travel sales ability, with a strong focus on customer service Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal with agents in a professional and courteous manner, conversing telephonically is an absolute requirement.
  • Above average computer literacy, have experience working in TourPlan
  • Experience in selling East Africa, Botswana, SA and Zimbabwe as well as Indian Island destinations.
  • Experience in working with the US market Ability to work under pressure Ability to work independently, and as part of a team. US shift hours are currently daily Rotational afterhours duty is shared amongst the Designer team.
