Description

You will liaise with various other departments in the Branch and offshore, including Treasury, Technology, Operations and Financial Control to ensure correct completion of various returns.

This role will enable you to understand what banking is all about.


Job Summary


As a regulatory reporting associate, you will be involved in completing daily, monthly and quarterly returns which include balance sheet and income statement returns, capital calculations and monitoring of liquidity metrics.


Responsibilities:


  • Completing the following:
  • PA Returns which include Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Credit, Liquidity, Capital and Statistical returns
  • Responding to formal and ad hoc queries from Regulator
  • JSE & SAFEX capital adequacy returns
  • Regular checking of product files
  • Strong control environment
  • Technology enhancements in regulatory reporting tool
  • Assist with annual external audit to ensure clean audit report

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • B. degree with focus on mathematics and/or accounting
  • At least 4 years experience in a banking environment
  • Self starter be able to work without constant supervision
  • Strong awareness of control environment
  • Good Ms Office skills
  • Analytical/detail orientated

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bank product knowledge
  • Firm grasp of financial principles and accounting
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements an advantage
