Job Purpose


To manage and assume overall responsibility for the success of the UFlex Brand Operations by directing the operational aspects, managing people and driving turnover, whilst controlling costs.

Takes accountability for ensuring that all processes are maintained at the highest possible standards, well organized and properly executed at all times and that all policies, procedures and controls are followed.


Key Result Areas

Business Development

  • Identifies trends and makes suggestions to improve and enhance product performance to drive brand achievement
  • Identifies and develops opportunities to enhance the UFlex brand's position within the South African & International business arena
  • Identifies, prioritizes and pursues new customers in conjunction with the CEO
  • Creates a customer call plan based on strategic intent and oversees the process of opening new accounts
  • Develops and manages customer relationships for mutual benefit

Customer Service

  • Supports the management of customer service activities and develops staff competence so as to optimize and sustain sales performance and customer satisfaction
  • Resolves customer complaints through personal involvement where necessary

Business Leadership

  • Implement, manage and report monthly on projects involving the UFlex brand and products as identified by the CEO.
  • Ensures that the company processes and identified activities are implemented as per the agreed timeframes
  • Identifies underperforming product and develops a business plan to address and manage issues effectively.
  • Seeks and continuously develops own knowledge of customer activity and local market conditions, with the purpose of making appropriate and innovative recommendations to drive the business forward.
  • All of the above Business Leadership KPI's must be addressed at a scheduled monthly meeting and minuted with an action plan, follow up and accountability.

Operations Management

  • Managing and motivating the departmental teams and ensure operational efficiencies and 100% on time delivery
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that company standards are achieved and maintained
  • Oversees the operations of the Brand, cost control and administration

People Management

  • Clearly and concisely communicates business and operational objectives to Departmental Managers so that they remain well informed of business activity and of their required contribution to targets
  • Develops an effective network of communication to ensure shared knowledge and understanding of business activity
  • Manages any employee relations issues which may arise, including the counselling, discipline and grievance processes, within the framework of applicable labour legislation and company policies
  • Plans for succession in the business through the identification of individuals with potential for development and growth
  • Creates a positive environment that results in employee retention and a reduction of staff turnover

Financial Overview

  • Analyses sales figures and forecasts future sales to drive turnover
  • Implements and maintains stock control policies and procedures
  • Constructively builds knowledge of long term financial trends and reviews forecasts for future income growth using external data and internal financial reporting provided by Financial Director and CEO
  • Uses this knowledge to build credible weekly and monthly reporting, budget and forecast submissions.
  • Be cognizant of operational costs on a monthly, seasonal and quarterly basis and
- strive to keep the expenses for the Brand within budget


Reporting

Compiles, submits and presents reports on:

  • Weekly/Monthly Trade
  • Reportback on customer visits
  • Competitor activity and trends

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and implementing sales strategies
  • Experience in customer relationship management.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dedication to providing great customer service.
  • Ability to manage and develop a positive and productive departmental team
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to drive and motivate performance through effective coaching skills
  • Demonstrable and strong business acumen
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of stock/sales ratios
  • Highly organised with the ability to adapt quickly to strategic change
  • Resultsoriented with strong analytical skills
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within a fastmoving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, guiding investment in people and systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous priorities, complex situations, and a diverse team of employees.
  • Selfstarter ability to work unsupervised, manage own time and activities with a high level of pers
