Private Big 5 Game Reserve located in the Eastern Cape.


Our client is seeking a Head Guide (Nature) with Level 1 or Level 2 FGASA to join a team of Animal Enthusiasts.

This position encompasses a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities. An entrepreneurial spirit is required that will best drive the business and maximize on all business units.


In order to share in the success and growth of the Lodge you may be called upon from time to time to perform various other tasks within your scope.


Your duties principally encompass those of a FIELD GUIDE (Nature) and any other reasonable tasks associated with the activities of a GAME RESERVE and LODGE/CAMP, its accommodation establishments and the maintenance of facilities.


These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Field Guiding; hosting guests
  • Guest transfers
  • Guest check in's and outs
  • Taking photographs for use in marketing
- vehicle maintenance
- staff transport
- lodge delivery pick-ups
- anti-poaching patrols
- game reserve work e.g. road maintenance, fence patrols, game capture and lodge maintenance

  • Management of the entire Guiding Team

Qualifications

  • Matric
  • FGASA Level 1 or
  • PrDP
  • First Aid level 1

Skills

  • 2 years experience gained in a Big Five Game Reserve
  • Valid First aid
  • DEDEAT registered
  • PrDP
  • Forward thinker
