    Description

    Electrical technician


    Responsibilities:


    Assist with electrical automation design and maintenance tasks.


    Installing and performing diagnostic tests on electrical systems.


    Developing and implementing electrical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns.


    Troubleshooting electrical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.


    Documenting processes and maintaining electrical service records.


    Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies.


    Optimizing electrical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.


    Training co-workers on automation systems within the plant.


    Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations.
    Electrical Technician Requirements


    A proven electrical background with relevant electrical NQF courses is highly desirable.


    N6/T3/S4 diploma or equivalent in an Engineering field would be advantageous Requisite Trade Test.


    Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues effectively.


    Proficiency in working at heights safely and adhering to safety regulations.


    Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, preferably including electrical drawings.


    Willingness to work weekends as required to ensure operational continuity.


    Computer literacy, particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook.


    Strong knowledge of automation and process control


    Experience in Electrical Control Panel building, PLC wiring, Instrumentation wiring, and configuration


    Proficiency in PLC programming and fault finding.


    Proficiency in Scada and HMI programming


    Experience in Analog instrumentation wiring and configuration


    Proficient in electrical and instrumentation fault finding.


    Skilled in electrical and instrumentation installation and integration into existing Automation systems


    Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.


    Willingness to work long hours.
