Assurance to join our Adapt IT Johannesburg Campus.
Job description

  • The Product Owner
  • Assurance role is to enable and achieve team delivery of audit and assurance software and content. The Product Owner acts as the bridge between the business and the development team and works closely with the Product Manager and clients to understand the vision and requirements for the product and develop the necessary Agileoriented artefacts to ensure that these are met.
  • The Product Owner
has a deep understanding of audit and assurance processes and practices, as well as world-class user experience. The incumbent demonstrates a strong ability to lead and has a shared responsibility to ensure that the appropriate product is developed in this most optimal way**Main Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Analyse feature specifications to understand the requirements in more detail;
  • Create user stories with the required level of detail (description and acceptance criteria etc.) for the team to efficiently plan and execute;
  • Perform the review of the signed off user stories for accuracy and completeness;
  • Question and critically assess the effectiveness of current template development methods and principles and provide suggestions for improvements; and
  • Participate in all Agile ceremonies as part of the team, and own that the team engages at all levels for effective collaboration;

Project Delivery

  • Successful execution of working content and software by coordinating with all stakeholders across the release valuechain in an Agile manner
  • Product Development, Product Manager(s), Content Owner and Third Parties;
  • Management of the product backlog to align with the product roadmap;
  • Participation in key activities that compliment success in every Program Increment;
  • Resolution of challenges to drive efficiency in delivery that may impact successful delivery; and
  • Partnering with Scrum Master(s), fellow Product Owner(s) and other team members to identify potential risks.

Quality Assurance

  • Ownership and delivery of quality product(s);
  • Assistance with the development and testing of User Stories;
  • Collaboration with client facing functions to resolve client issues in driving customer success;
  • Execution of client informed feedback, feature requests and improvement in the product backlog; and
  • Ownership of the final signoff of user stories after the teams' Definition of Done (DoD) is met.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with the Product Manager on the Training of internal staff (Sales, Marketing, Consulting, Support) on content and value delivery for each product release;
  • Support the gotomarket execution by collaborating with Product Manager(s) and other stakeholders in the business; and
  • Maintain effective communication with relevant teams (Support, Training and Consulting etc) to identify and act on realtime customer insight to inform compelling customer experience interventions;

People Management

  • Lead the Assurance development team; and
  • Manage individual team member growth and empower the team with appropriate skills, tools, and development.

Minimum requirements

  • BCom Accounting or related degree (Minimum NQF Level 7);
  • SAICA Articles completed;
  • 3 years' experience as an Audit Manager or Audit Senior with audit experience and good knowledge of ISAs;
  • 2 years' experience with Caseware Working Papers, Probe Audit or Audit International or similar software; and
  • 2 years' experience in a leadership role.

Desirable Requirements

  • CA (SA);
  • Experience working in crossfunctional teams;
  • Experience with audit software and methodologies;
  • Clientfacing experience;
  • Experience using financial software systems; and
  • A technical background (in software development) is not a prerequisite, but a plus.

Knowledge

  • Audit and assurance methodologies.
  • Super user experience in software, systems, and tools.
  • Experience with the below tools is not essential, but would be advantageous:
  • Jira
  • Confluence
  • Aha
  • Slack / Teams
