Technical Sales Rep - Johannesburg, South Africa - Progessive International
Description
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (essential)
- A relevant
technical tertiary qualification/progress towards a relevant tertiary qualification
Experience:
- 25 years relevant experience with specific knowledge gained in the paint industry.
- A working knowledge of the technical aspects of the paint process beneficial.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Conduct market review and analysis
- Identify potential new offerings (products and services) in conjunction with sales team
- Seek out new markets and potential offerings
- Focus on potentially longterm contracts and business relationships
- Manage relations with key clients (both current and new)
- Prepare and conduct presentations to existing and potential clients
SALES AND MARKETING
- Compile weekly and monthly pipeline and sales reports
- Meet weekly and monthly sales and development targets
- Maintain and update client records in respect of work completed/projected
- Maintaining relations with the corporate office administration and finance teams
CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Maintain and build relationships with existing and new clients
- Schedule regular visits to clients and manage invitations to related business functions and forums.
- Maintain ongoing records of current and future client needs
- Update client records & client visit reports on the CRM platform as per agreed targets & qualifying criteria.
- Technical back up service on product usage.
SALES ADMINISTRATION
Compile and update client and sales-based information on the system
- Process all administrative documentation in accordance with policy
- Maintain administrative records as per sales guidelines and policy
CORPORATE DATABASE
- Maintain and update of client database
- Supplement existing company database through scanning of the market, professional publications, newspapers and other sources
BUSINESS RELATED INFORMATION
- Conduct product survey usage in their portfolio and recommend on new product additions.
- Occassionally host principals that supply products for the concerned portfolio
- Exhibit clear knowledge of competitor activities and the general business environment.
SUPPORT JUNIORS EMPLOYEES
- Coodinate sales operations in absence of Sales Manager
- Any other duties as delegated by Management.
