Strategy:

Define the Partner Solutions product strategy in line with Santam and Sanlam Group strategy.

Understand the various segments within partnerships and conceptualise best fit product strategies:
Focus on penetrating the mass market.
Understanding changing client needs in PS.
Execute the Partner Solutions product strategy. What will make you successful in this role?

  • Develop the product roadmap and prioritisations aligned to Partner Solutions strategy.
  • Identifying and capitalising on Sanlam Group synergies and opportunities.
  • Build on market intelligence through research and analytics to identify new product opportunities and trends with potential partners.
  • Development of concept briefs in preparation for formalising new product development projects.
  • Product gap analysis and planning, prioritisation, and implementation of relevant product actions.
Design

  • Develop and maintain short term insurance products and services that meet the needs of our partners and clients. Liaison between Underwriting and pricing etc.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and clients to gather requirements and feedback on product development processes.
  • Brief actuarial on assumptions, predictive modelling, pricing, and rating.
  • Brief underwriting on rules, pricing, and underwriting standards.
  • Being the key point of contact with BITS, Distribution, Claims, etc.
  • Develop business cases and financial models to support product development decisions in Partner Solutions.
  • Manage the endtoend product development process, including product design, testing, launch, and ongoing management. (Product Owner capabilities)
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact product development.
  • Provide informed input into defining:
  • Policy wording clauses
  • Technical considerations.
  • Legal, Risk and Compliance frameworks.
  • Distribution channels.
  • Operational models consideration, impact analysis and solutions.
  • Claims models, impact analysis and solutions.
  • Define customer centric ecosystems for both internal and partner collaboration. E.g., Distribution, Sanlam Fintech, Data sharing capabilities, Rewards etc.
  • Work closely with the Partnership/Business Development team to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Perform product due diligence in support of acquisition strategies. Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience in short-term insurance (especially Personal Lines)
Strong experience in client centric product design and implementation (minimum 5 years)
