Description

Hire Resolve is currently working with a leading sugar production company based in Durban who is in need of a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of mechanical systems and equipment within the sugar production plant.

Responsibilities:

Developing and implementing maintenance strategies to ensure the efficient operation of mechanical systems.
Conducting regular inspections and assessments of mechanical equipment to identify and address any issues.
Planning and scheduling maintenance activities and coordinating with other departments to minimize downtime.
Performing troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical equipment as needed.
Managing and supervising a team of mechanical technicians.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Keeping track of equipment performance and maintenance records.
Collaborating with other engineers and professionals to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
Identifying and implementing improvement initiatives to enhance the performance and reliability of mechanical systems.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years + experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment used in sugar production.
Fully proficient on the maintenance requirements of the OSHACT
Deep Root Cause Analysis skills and experience
Continuous improvement knowledge and experience
Familiarity with Illovo systems would be an advantage (Maximo)
