As part of our growth plans, we are looking to hire a
Legal Administrator with exceptional administrative and research skills.

In our environment, the Legal Administrator will be expected to work comfortably under pressure with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


_ Legal Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate legal research and analysis.
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations in legal documents.
  • Compile, proofread and revise drafts of legal documents and reports.
  • Daily record keeping with electronic and hard copy filing of documents.
  • Obtain relevant information from clients, other organizations, suppliers or agencies.
  • Create and organize information and generate reference tools for easy use by the office.
  • Prepare and format legal and management reports.
  • Maintain and update databases and tracking systems.
  • Ensure efficient and effective administrative information and assistance.
  • File records and log incoming and outgoing mail per client file.
  • Enhance attorneys' effectiveness by monitoring case progress.
  • Alert staff lawyers of issues requiring their attention.
  • Maintain contact with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Contribute information to the legal team during case reviews.
  • Conclude cases by verifying outstanding balances and preparing settlement documentation.
  • Update professional knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
  • Build positive client relationships through effective communication, establishing trust, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Schedule meetings and legal proceedings, answer phones and maintain digital and physical records.
  • Transcribe meeting notes and draft file notes. Diarising "todo lists" arising from meetings and file notes.

_ Minimum requirements:
_


  • Grade 1
  • Bachelor's Degree in Law or related (essential).
  • Paralegal and/or secretarial certificate (desired).
  • 12 years of experience in a legal environment.
  • Analytical thinker with detailed research proficiencies.
  • Ability to grasp and interpret legal documents.
  • Systematic knowledge of databases and tracking systems.
  • Fantastic organizational skills and detailoriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Brilliant written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and other relevant software.
