Description

Road knowledge and exposure in quoting Air / Sea / Road Freight, handling of Project Cargo, Cross Border / Cross Trades, imports and exports.


  • Experience in operational positions beneficial
  • Be able to prepare quotes/estimates according to customer's requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with shipping lines, airlines, overseas agents, transporters, etc.
  • Updating of rate files, spreadsheets and schedules.
  • Ensure everyone countrywide has correct rates, carriers & agreements
  • Needs to be computer super literate (Excel and Cargo wise).
  • Needs to understand all Modes of Transport including out of gauge and Bulk.
  • Must be able to evaluate and improve current quoting methodology
  • Regarding rate storage and ease of access.
  • Updating and creating of Customer templates
  • Improve on the quote register format.
  • Follow up on quotes done,
  • Report on the follow up
  • Improve processes country wide to up our hit rate
  • Exposure to rate negotiations with carriers.
  • Have the ability to build relationships with carriers and so doing keep our freight rates optimal.
  • Have the admin discipline to update and keep the rates updated

Education and Formal Training:


  • Matric: nonnegotiable
  • Degree: Relevant logistics.

Experience:


  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team
  • Minimum 3 years estimates experience within clearing and forwarding.
  • Experience dealing with all modes of transport
  • Respond on timeously
  • Be very flexible

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
R15 000,00 - R17 000,00 per month
