Our esteemed client is embarking on a significant solar/substation project in Upington and seeks the expertise of a Assistant Scheduler to commence in June.

Job Title: Assistant Scheduler

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience in project control management and scheduling, with a minimum of 6 years of experience in renewable energy projects or similar projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and update project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring all activities and milestones are accurately reflected.
2. Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and budget, ensuring alignment with objectives.
3. Implement project tracking processes to monitor progress, expenses, and performance metrics.
4. Assess schedule and cost risks, and propose strategies to mitigate potential delays or overruns.
5. Prepare progress reports and variance analyses to inform decision-making.
6. Assist in collecting and validating project data, ensuring its accuracy.
7. Support project review meetings to address challenges and communicate status updates.
8. Provide guidance to team members and encourage a culture of collaboration and improvement.
9. Assist project managers in evaluating change requests and their impact on schedules and budgets.
10. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance project delivery.

Key Skills:

1. Proficient in Primavera P6 and other project management software.
2. Understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
3. Strong analytical skills for interpreting data and identifying trends.
4. Effective communication and collaboration abilities with diverse teams.
5. Leadership skills with experience in mentoring junior professionals.
6. Desireable certification in project management or scheduling.
7. Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and regulations is a bonus.
