Minimum requirements for the role:


  • Ideally someone working for a Multi-National company.
  • A tertiary qualification in Agriculture or Sales and Marketing is preferred.
  • Previous experience having worked as a Sales Manager or within a similar sales role in the agricultural market is essential.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the principles of the agricultural crop protection industry.
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to supervise and motivate Customers and Farmers.
  • Must have sound computer skills including word processing and database management.
  • Knowledge of the agricultural markets and needs is preferred.
  • Managing a regional sales budget for crop protection and providing in field support to our Key Partners and Customers on these products.
  • Compiling monthly, quarterly and annual budgets and forecasting of product volumes, price maintenance, and market feedback.
  • Identifying development opportunities in the region, close interaction with Product Development/ Regulatory Manager.
  • Implementing and managing the sales distribution policy with Agents.
  • Negotiating commercial deals with Customers and getting approval from the Regional Manager.
  • Implementing commercial policy discussions with the Regional Manager that includes, target volumes, performance rebates, and special deals necessary to achieve the necessary targets set for every Customer.
  • Regular Customer and distribution contact, training, product stewardship efforts and claims investigation.
  • Spraying and planning of demonstration trials with Key Customers and Farmers to support the launch of new products.
  • Planning and executing the launch plans in the region as planned for the Companys registrations.
  • Investigating possible claims and product related issues in the region, reporting to the Regional Manager on the possible outcome of the investigation as well as the necessary actions to be taken to resolve the issue.
  • Assisting the Development/Regulatory Manager in visiting the field trails in the region to gather better knowledge of the Company products under development.
