    Description
    We are looking for a 2nd line IT Support Technician to administer and maintain our client's infrastructure technology across their branches and multiple data centres, East Rand


    Overview:


    The successful candidate will manage both LAN and WAN networks, conduct research on the latest networking trends, and resolve system issues.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage and configure the WAN and LAN networks to maintain a highavailability infrastructure.
    • Conduct timely remote infrastructure support and troubleshooting to meet SLAs.
    • Perform system improvements for optimal service delivery.
    • Administer IP addresses and maintain infrastructure security measures like access control, backups, and firewalls.
    • Oversee regular maintenance and upgrading of infrastructure at our offices and data centres, including cloud services.
    • Assist in research and design for data centre consolidations, cloud services, disaster recovery, and business continuity connectivity.
    • Coordinate with IT support teams and provide assistance when necessary.
    • Generate reports concerning infrastructure health, monitoring, and alerting.
    • Liaise with vendors, managers, and thirdparty partners.
    • Oversee telecommunications and maintain strong relationships with customers and other professionals.

    Other Requirements:

    • Willingness to assist Network Administrators with crossfunctional tasks.
    • Comfortable with occasional nighttime driving and working.
    • Proficient at liaising professionally with thirdparty service providers.
    • Familiar with UPS operational checks and maintenance regime requirements according to SLAs.

    Essential Qualifications and Experience:

    • Matric
    • A+ Certificate
    • N+ Certificate
    • Linux
    -
    3 years' experience in a similar role

    • Network, desktop support, and hardware maintenance experience.

    Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

    • CCNA, Security+, LPIC 1, MCSE
    • Experience with DHCP, DNS, SMTP, Firewalls, VPN Solutions, and Active Directory.
    • Familiarity with networking fundamentals and protocols.

    Skills:

    • Excellent listening and communication skills
    • Good interpersonal and organisational skills
    • Solid problemsolving abilities
    • Knowledge of monitoring tools like Observium and Netflow
