Camps Bay Retreat is currently looking for a Technician to join their team.

You will assist the maintenance team on all projects, but will be fully responsible for electric wiring and maintenance thereof.


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 1
  • Diploma/ Certificate in project management / facilities management
  • Driver's license essential
  • First Aid Certification Advantageous
  • Fire Marshall and Evacuation certification advantageous
  • 35 years previous experience in same or similar position in the hospitality industry
  • Familiar with all duties and procedures in the Maintenance Department
  • Wireman's license highly advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hotel gardens to be immaculately manicured and maintained.
  • Irrigation system to be efficiently operational.
  • Plan the growing, harvesting and planting of flora depending on crop & season.
  • Assist the kitchen in the vegetable and herb gardens ensuring it's maintained and always has plants available.
  • Establish and maintain recycling Centre.
  • Daily walkabouts through property to ensure all areas are neat and clean, nothing is out of place and all work is on track.
  • Ensure all rooms are in 100% working condition prior to guest's arrival.
  • Store securely all tools in a safe place to prevent loss or damage to equipment.
  • To ensure that all stocks and supplies are timeously requested, corrects stock levels are maintained and stock ordered under optimum conditions.
  • Repairs damaged or construct new equipment when so required, within reason, to ensure the smooth running and operation of all areas on the property.
  • Understand standard specifications for all equipment (wood, metal, etc.).
  • Understand Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and regulations.
  • Ensure that all legal requirements are met.
