What we are looking for:

A Sales Executive to join our dynamic Durban team.

This person will manage and develop a portfolio of travel agencies within the designated geographical area by growing sales, increasing the number of active travel agencies and providing day-to-day support for booking related issues and training in products and services.


What you will do:


  • Devise and produce a working sales business plan, which adequately provides territorial management, adequate sales coverage and specialised commercial activities
  • Present your annual sales business plan to the sales team before the start of the solar year
  • Grow sales of your travel agencies' portfolio and increase the number of active travel agencies to achieve South Africa's office budgeted revenue expectations for your area
  • Develop and maintain a database of travel agent contacts within your allocated area to maximise sales
  • Present and convince accounts to advertise and sell our cruises
  • Regular product training to travel agents (remote or facetoface)
  • Resolving of issues that travel agents may have that have not been resolved by the call centre e.g. refund issues, cruise moves, special requests, etc.
  • Team/WhatsApp calls to potential and established clients in the area allocated to you
  • Produce and submit required weekly and monthly reports
  • Attend travel functions e.g. fairs, trade shows, exhibitions and events in a participative or observer status
  • Participate and present during events organised by travel agencies to develop the company's products and services
  • Attend all sales meetings, sales calls and any other meetings which will provide input as requested by the business
  • Participate in educationals for commercial or travel trade contracts as required
  • Maintain weekly contact with Sales and Marketing team in order to develop working relationship and to have a constant awareness of trends within the business
  • Transmit all leads for business outside of your allocated area to the Sales Manager to distribute accordingly
  • Ensure they have an excellent product knowledge of all the cruise packages both internationally and domestically

What you must have:


  • Minimum three years in sales or other commercial areas within the travel/tourism industry
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience in the cruise industry advantageous
  • Strong preference for individuals with previous experience in key account management
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel daily within the designated geographical area
  • Computer literacy including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
