A well established paint coatings manufacturer in Modderfontein is looking for the services of a Division Manager to manage the operation and sales of 3 retail stores and a telesales representative.

Strong sales and management ability required. The incumbent will assume full responsibility for the operational management and sales volume grow within the division. The successful incumbent will also relieve store managers from time to time as required.


The division includes:

  • 3 Retail stores which retail all of the Company's decorative & industrial coatings, preparation products and accessories.
  • Go Mark telesales of field marking machines, liquids, parts and services.

Role weighting:
Operations management 20% / Sales management 80%


Requirements:


  • Demonstrable sales ability / track record and experience critical.
  • Previous team management experience.
  • Demonstrable staff / management ability / track record.
  • A-Team / best in class profile.
  • Postmatric further development / training.
  • Paint experience most beneficial, but not essential.
  • Gravitas, ability to operate without senior manager supervision, ability to achieve results.
  • Previous branch / retail store management beneficial.
  • A good understanding of retail business and business in general.
  • Experience in managing multiple staff and / or outlets essential.
  • Strong personality.
  • Analytical ability.
  • IT literate.
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • High degree of professionalism and conduct at all times.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (time managements, assertiveness, and conflict resolution).

Responsibilities:


  • Assumes full responsibility for the running, management and performance of the division.
  • Assumes full responsibility for sales performance within the division.
  • Assumes full responsibility for operational management of the branches.
  • Assumes full responsibility for the management of all division staff.
  • Assume physical sales activity in support of individual store sales objectives. Physically sell within the relevant geographic area of responsibility.
  • Support store staff in the field (at customer level) in order to close new business and win back nonbilling customers.
  • Maintain sales margins within the division.
  • Drive division sales performance and KPA achievement.
  • Driving turnover to ensure achievement of targets (sales, turnover and GP).
  • CRM management.
  • Ensure that store staff execute their job responsibilities effectively, efficiently and professionally. Each staff member must operate at the level required by their job.
  • Assumes full responsibility for exemplary housekeeping across all branches.
  • Hands on management of any potential store relocation projects.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient daily running of the stores encompassing all the activities required for such purposes. This includes daily cashups, daily ordering via MRP, stock optimization, stock takes, stock rotation, cash ups, banking etc within company policy / procedures.
  • Ensure that store trading hours are adhered to across all locations.
  • Staff planning and scheduling.
  • Spend a minimum of one full day a week with each store.
  • Full understanding of the company's systems and processes and the management of daytoday activity relating to the store.
  • Take ownership of all customer problems and complaints, ensuring that they are effectively and efficiently handled and closedoff.
  • Ensure ethical, honest and professional business dealings with all customers.
  • Manage store stock and ensure that stores order via MRP daily (ensuring that MRP is used in accordance with company policy).
  • Responsible for the execution of instore stock takes.
  • Ensure that all staff are effectively trained (product knowledge, technical knowledge, customer service, retail best practices etc)
  • Managing, leading, motivating and training staff.
  • Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met.
  • Ensure that all tasks and activities are carried out effectively and efficiently, with a sense of urgency, attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Ensure that senior management decisions are carried through to the team and fully supported.
  • Executing instore merchandise strategy and standards
  • Relieve individual store manager when necessary.
