Coordinating workflow in the service department, between service advisors, foreman and customers

  • Updating service customers on all service bookings and progress timeously
  • Being a team player, to be able to work all respective stakeholders
  • Ensure workshop opening and closing daily and timeously
  • Ensure the security of vehicles, i.e. vehicles locked in workshops and keys locked in a key safe
  • Ensuring first thing in the morning that vehicles are parked outside and that the keys are locked in a key safe
  • Ensuring job cards are signed & compliant as per MBSA requirements
  • Assisting and timeously advising Technicians on quotes
  • Give assistance to the Controller, Foreman, Service Manager, Service Receptionist
  • Follow up on parts ordered to workshop within a 5day turnaround time as per MBSA requirements
  • Ensure that all vehicles with specific complaints are test driven with either a Foreman or a Quality Controller before the client leaves the dealership where necessary
  • Ensure that all vehicles are test driven

Position Overview:

Mercedes-Benz Bryanston currently holds a vacancy for a Service Advisor reporting to the Service Manager.

This position will be suited to a person who has the ability to maintain high levels of service on an on-going basis, ability to provide excellent customer service.


Specific Role Responsibilities:


Customer Service:


  • Responsible for the maintenance of customer service to agreed standards
  • Ensure proper diagnosis in line with customers symptom descriptions
  • Responsible for the precosting and invoicing of vehicles before collections by customer
  • Responsible for continuous feedback with customers on progress and delays
  • Responsible for follow up on customer enquiries and complaints

Administration:


  • Ensure effective daily planning
  • Responsible for the prewriting of job cards
  • Responsible for the recording of nonwarranty claims
  • Responsible for the management of WIP (Work In Progress)
  • Monitoring and control of cash outstanding

Qualifications and Experience:


Education & experience:

  • Minimum Grade 1
  • Computer Literate (preferably experience in the use of Kerridge)
  • 23 years' experience in the same or similar position.
  • Preferably Mercedesbenz certified Service Advisor
  • Knowledge of motor industry preferable
