Job Advert Summary:

Rand Water is looking for Designate Operations Manager to effectively manage all regions at Bulk Water Distribution in the Operations Division.

To safely and cost effectively co-ordinate the available resources, ensuring minimum disruption in potable water supply to Randwater Customers.

Minimum Requirements:

Engineering Qualification or equivalent ( NQF Level 7) in Electrical or Mechanical
Driver's license
Atleast 5 to 7 years experience working with water systems and pipelines
Desired requirement

G.C.C

Government Certificate of Competence or be legible to obtain it

Primary Duties:

Ensure that water is supplied in the right quantity and quality to meet the drinking water standards.
Manage the operational assets in line with best principles of operations management.
Manage operational requirements within budget and timelines.
Manage the appropiate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development.
Joint problem solving with Metros and Municipalities during breakdowns, shutdowns and water shortage incidents
Liase with other managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, operating philosophies, purpose and achievement.
Embrace organisational mission, vision,strategy and strategic objectives.
Enhance stakeholder management by embrasing contractual requiremens, protocols and procedures
Contribution to the evaluation of strategy and performance of Operations Division.
Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for qualtiy management, health and safety, legal requirement and enviroment policies.
Overall responsibilty for continuous certification of ISO 9001, 14001 and 4500
Ensure that the divisional risks are assessed regularly in order to align to the Corporate Strategic Risks.
Management of staff, mentoring, coaching and development.

Knowledge:

Sound knowledge of Operations Management.
Knowledge of maintenance strategies
Experience in general management knowledge, i.e, good general understanding of all aspects of the business
Knowledge of labour Relations
