Mining company outside Middelburg is seeking to employ a fleet controller to join their teamValid Drivers license
Grade 12
Tertiary studies will be an added benefit
Please see below a list of duties
Confirms Driver attendance through pre-shift checks to confirm full staff compliment.
In the absence of being unable to confirm the whereabouts of a Driver, contacts and allocates spare Driver to prevent disruption of production.
Plans and allocates vehicles according to operational targets.
Reports Driver Attendance to HR by completing and forwarding daily attendance register prior to sign off by Operations Manager.
Briefs Drivers on operational requirements and communicates daily targets.
Briefs Drivers on safety talk topic for the week and address issues identified from previous shifts.
Verifies welfare of Driver through one on one interactions prior to shift in line with safety standards.
Managing the daily operation of the fleet to ensure targets are met by constant monitoring and analysis.
Trying to understand why the Driver's are not meeting targets and addressing it and giving direction.
Ensure controls put in place are adhered to.
Monitors driver's driving performance in relation to fuel consumption and economical driving (speeding, standing time, green band driving, idling, coasting, rapid cornering, harsh breaking and acceleration) through effective fleet monitoring.
Escalates excessive standing time contacts Site Super after an hour, after 2hrs contacts to site Manager and 3 hrs to Ops Manager.
Monitors PTO on truck to ensure loading and off-loading within correct geographical location.
Accurate monitoring of truck kms and updating of truck service schedule.
Calc daily fuel consumption accurately on system and address with driver to maintain with stipulated targets.
Reports previous days fleet performance. orms Drivers of fatigue breaks in line with company standards to prevent accidents / incidents
Monitors productivity of employees on an hourly basis.
Motivates employees to achieve work performance targets.
Identifies training needs and coaches employees on the job.
Addresses absenteeism and late-coming.
Represents company in internal disciplinary hearings
