Role overview


The Administrative Intern will be responsible for providing reception and sales support to the buying and internal sales functions of the company.

They will greet and direct visitors, answer and transfer phone calls, maintain office supplies and equipment, assist with purchase order creation, and provide administrative support to the sales team.


Tasks:


  • Greet and direct visitors, providing excellent customer service
  • Answer and transfer phone calls to the appropriate personnel
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and meetings
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment, ensuring they are well stocked and in working order
  • Create purchase orders and assist with vendor communication
  • Assist with customer inquiries, including product information and pricing
  • Identifying and evaluating potential new suppliers
  • Engaging in negotiations to secure favourable pricing and terms
  • Conducting price comparisons among suppliers to ensure competitiveness
  • Monitoring and coordinating delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Person specifications and minimum requirements:
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented and highly organized

Desktop research - ability to Google

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Prior experience in an administrative role preferred


Salary:
Up to R6,500.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Boksburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

Microsoft Office: 1 year (required)
