Description

  • The Wits Centre for Journalism (formerly the Department of Journalism and Media Studies) seeks Radio Network Coordinator to drive the activities of the Citizen Justice Network and the Centre's academic programme in radio.
The incumbent is required to contribute to the development and teaching of radio curricula, and to produce original research in this area.


Requirements:


  • Degree in journalism or cognate field OR equivalent experience
Proven experience in teaching, training and workshop facilitation
Extensive knowledge of the radio landscape in the country and the continent
Project management and fundraising experience


Key Responsibilities:


  • Drive the Community Journalism Network (CJN), project by activating key donorfunded objectives together with the team.
Manage the community radio network in place and develop it beyond its current configuration.
Drive fundraising efforts to streghten the CJN project.
Review and refresh radio journalism curricula.
Mentor, train and facilitate when necessary.
Produce original research in radio in South Africa and the continent.
