Job Purpose:
a) To analyse & interpret internal and external data and use it to build compelling stories that clearly highlight areas of opportunity and threat for the Company to deliver market intelligence and sustainable growth in brand equity, sales volume, market share, competitive advantage, and corporate reputation.
b) To play a key role in coordinating the process and timely delivery of new product development
Key Accountabilities and Outputs:
1.

Market Data Management:

Compile, analyse, interpret, and present sales, market share and market data.
Sharing market knowledge with internal customers and, at times, external customers.
Coordinating monthly reports and internal reporting.
Manage, measure & report product distribution & availability.
Compile monthly price survey tracking with regions.
Managing outsourced syndicated data service providers and ROI on these.
Drive analysis of consumer, category, and customer information to develop compelling business building recommendations to customers.
Market data currently includes:

Internal Sales Data

Trade Marketing Support & Administration:

Coordinating trade marketing activities and tools, monthly reports, and internal reporting.
Support Trade Marketing with daytoday tasks, such as:
Listings & Speed to Market measurement
Development of Pricing Strategy
Share of Voice reporting o Portfolio Analysis
Customer Review development o Development & Refining of In-Trade Execution Guidelines
Development of Trade Toolkits, inclusive of NPD Trade Presenters
Consumer and Shopper Propositions derived through insight and category analysis.
Coordination of all POS requirements for specific campaigns related to channel plans by brand. Market Analyst & NPD Coordinator

NPD Project Coordination & Process Management:

Coordinating all new product development projects
Ensuring all NPD team members are clear on the status of each project, as well as the actions required in order to deliver projects on time
Internal communication around NPD projects, such as ensuring production plants are clear on requirements, and managing project master data
Preparation of all data required for Gate Documents-
Inherent Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors Degree (3 years) / NQF level 7
Previous experience in working with scan data (Nielsen/IRI) essential
Strong analytical skills & attention to detail
Understanding of FMCG trade
Collaborates internally and externally
Developed IT and presentation skills
