NEW GENERATION OF ACADEMICS PROGRAMME (nGAP)

DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY

LECTURER

Responsibilities will include:


  • Contributing to the learning and teaching programme at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
  • Willingness to learn and use new teaching technologies, and work in an online environment;
  • Supervision of Honours research projects and assist in the supervision of MA theses;
  • Developing their own research and publications profile; and
  • Contributing to departmental academic administration.

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of 70% for the Master's degree in Sociology;
  • Demonstrated experience as a Sociology lecturer, graduate lecturing assistant/teaching assistant, or tutor; and
  • Some peerreviewed scholarly publication/s or evidence of manuscript/s submitted for publication consideration.

Added advantages include:


  • Expertise in quantitative methodology or mixed methods research.
  • The ability to assist with the supervision of postgraduate theses.
  • Evidence of conference presentation/s.
