Job Advert Summary:
Hello an exciting new opportunity has just become available in our Hollard Risk Group area. We are looking to recruit a Legal and Compliance Officer.
Assist Hollard Group Risk ("HGR") in managing the legal and compliance risk across the different licenses, maintain strong Client relationship management (internal and external)
Assist with maintaining of all policy documentation:
Master policies
Policy schedules
Policy endorsements
Review communication templates, forms and disclosures:
Internal and external communication i.e. letters, fact sheets, forms
Disclosure documents to ensure compliance with relevant legislation
Assist with member communication and partner communication
Coordinate the ex-gratia process
Assist with the recording of ex-gratia claims
Assist with the reporting on ex-gratia claims
Facilitate the approval of intermediaries and partners (relevant background checks)
Maintain the intermediary and partner database
Perform license checks on the various intermediaries
Assist with partner monitoring to ensure compliance to the agreement
Non-disclosure agreements
Memorandums of Understanding agreements
Intermediary agreements
Binder and Administration agreements
Distribution agreements
Assist with developing governance structures within HGR
Assist in engagement on forensics matters and providing opinions
Track all forensics matters for reporting purposes
Keep abreast of changing legislation
Communicate changes in legislation to business
Assist with regulatory implementation within business
Assist with the approval of FICA documents
Review and enhance the FICA process
Update of process documents
Responsible for providing FICA SOP training to new employees***Providing training to HGR staff and partners with regard to compliance processes
Provide training to HGR staff and partners with regard to new legislation and regulations
Liaising effectively with all internal clients (Legal, Compliance, Forensics, Internal Audit, etc.)
Liaising effectively with all external clients (policyholders, insurers, outsourced partners, intermediaries)
Attend meetings with various stakeholders
Ad-hoc projects and general business assistance
Assist with training on relevant legal and compliance matters and domestic outsourced partners (binder holders and administrators)
Service providers and suppliers (e.g. attorneys, consultants etc.)
Internal clients (Legal, Compliance, Forensics, Internal Audit, etc.)

LLB Degree
Admitted Attorney
Good understanding of financial industry specifically insurance
Microsoft IT Skills, i.e. Outlook, Excel and Word are mandatory at an advanced level, PowerPoint advantageous
