Senior Inbound Travel Curator - Westville, South Africa - Pro Talent
Description
To Plan, envision, create, and manage customized bookings for clientDuties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to direct consumer enquiries, generated via web and social media
- Interpret client's specifications and requirements and suggest suitable travel itineraries and ideas
- Propose, quote and motivate these suggestions in a professional and formal quotation
- Sell profitably and manage the travel file accurately with the highest level of detail
- Coordinate and project manage the logistics around booking of accommodation, transfers, tours, excursions, flights and car hire
- Issue itineraries and tickets for the final travel arrangements
- Accurately invoice bookings within prescribed deadlines and ensure collection of funds in accordance with both deposit and final payment time frames
- Keep up to date with product and geographical knowledge
- Have a clear understanding of operating procedures and how to use the company systems
Knowledge skills and abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- An ability and confidence to engage directly with customers both off generated leads and cold calling
- Negotiations skills and the ability to close sales
- Financial acumen understanding of debits, credits, invoicing
- Southern African, as well as East African and Indian Ocean Product Knowledge
- Knowledge of Travel Industry Airline, Tourism and Hospitality procedures and processes
- Quality Orientated high standard of service delivery
- Good Reader with a high level of attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills ability to build rapport with clients and work well in a team
- Highly organised with strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Experienced independent worker with the ability to selfmotivate
- Positive attitude and behaviour
- Resultsorientated
Education and experience:
- Relevant qualification in Travel and Tourism would be an advantage
- Direct consumer sales experience (B2C) in a tailormade travel environment
- Five (5) or more years Travel Consultant experience in a tailormade travel environment
- Advanced levels of IT literacy: Outlook, Tourplan would be an advantage
- Good geographical knowledge of our Southern Africa destinations (East Africa & Indian Ocean advantageous)
- Demonstrable sales performance in a targetdriven environment
