    Description

    A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Group Reporting Accountant to join the expanding team of a prominent insurance company that offers a wide range of insurance and financial services in Johannesburg or Cape Town.

    Joining the Reporting and Consolidations team as the Group Reporting Accountant within this well-established, reputable and innovative business, you will be responsible for processing financial information at a group level and supporting stakeholders with the interpretation of this information to enable strategic business decision making.

    The successful Group Reporting Accountant will have the chance to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where they can make strategic decisions that have a significant impact on the entire organisation. This role also presents excellent opportunities for career progression.

    Key qualifications and experience required for the Group Reporting Accountant:

    • Fully Qualified CA(SA)
    • 1 – 3 years post articles experience
    • NB Must have solid experience with IFRS reporting at a Group level
    • Proven track record of working with executive committees/senior stakeholders (preferred)
    • Background in an insurance or finance environment (advantageous)
    • Cognos Controller experience (advantageous)

    Key duties of the Group Reporting Accountant:

    • Assist with the preparation and review of Group consolidated accounts for each reporting period
    • Review subsidiary financial reporting submissions
    • Address technical queries and assist with the preparation and review of technical documentation
    • Provide consolidation pack training for financial managers
    • Prepare and review consolidated Group Financial Statements
    • Liaise with external audit providers
    • Ensure timely and successful resolution of issues to enhance client service delivery
    • Manage client query processes and ensure accurate resolution
    • Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders
    • Contribute to continuous innovation through the development, sharing, and implementation of new ideas
