Mission

Senior Manager:

Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) and B-BBEE Transformation is responsible for the implementation of the overall B-BBEE transformation strategy for MTN Group (being a consolidation of MTN SA, Manco and Supersonic) and MTN SA with a strong focus on the MTNSA ESD Program.

Providing strategic leadership, setting, and focusing delivery on (ESD) in addition to the rest of the scorecard pillars.


Key Performance Areas
Drive the B-BBEE Transformation agenda

  • Champion for the B-BBEE transformation strategy and for improving the transformation record and profile of MTN S.A.;
  • Accountable for the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the progress towards key transformation strategic objectives;
  • Achieve stakeholder buyin for companywide transformation projects;
  • Implement, monitor, and control the outputs of industry projects related to the portfolio or as assigned by the organisation from time to time;
  • Represent MTN S.A. with various industry bodies;
  • Participate at various company and relevant external meetings as and when identified;
  • Will be required to participate in employee relations matters (training, guidance, and counselling) relating to transformation; and
  • Responsible for engagement across multidisciplinary teams to ensure that B-BBEE Transformation is addressed meaningfully across the organisation through governance and processes and that the output thereof from each function is monitored and managed i.e., Recruitment targets; promotions, skills development etc.

Drive the ESD Programme agenda

  • Ensuring achievement of annual supplier development goals (derived from 3year goals);
  • Placing MTN ahead of market competitors in Preferential Procurement
  • Implementing the approved ESD strategy;
  • Ensuring consistent and costeffective compliance with the CompCom conditions;
  • Creating internal buyin into the Programme managing relationships between ESD Programme beneficiaries, Procurement, and business units;
  • Promoting the need for concerted development of suppliers across business units;
  • Conducting an ongoing assessment of ESD performance (spend analysis) and reporting as required;
  • Leading and conducting beneficiary selection and due diligence
  • Guiding and overseeing beneficiary business, financial and technical gap analysis;
  • Identifying beneficiary development/training and support interventions;
  • Working with external business development service providers to deliver development programmes;
  • Assessing the effectiveness of existing financial and nonfinancial support programmes;
  • Selecting and managing external delivery partner relationships (business development service providers and finance partners);
  • Developing Programme improvement/enhancement options (based on current performance and market best practices);
  • Reporting on Programme performance;
  • Representation of the programme internally and externally; and
  • Coordinating ad hoc and planned ESDrelated events

B-BBEE scorecard

  • Develop and maintain the required infrastructure to ensure the existence of active and functional monthly Game Changer meetings (B-BBEE Transformation Steering Committee);
  • Manage the relevant B-BBEE stakeholders to support the company's compliance with its B-BBEE strategy;
  • Develop and manage the company B-BBEE Transformation scorecard;
  • Develop and implement a plan to achieve the maximum points under the B-BBEE scorecard;
  • Establish and manage the internal B-BBEE processes;
  • Provide guidance and direction to stakeholders on matters relating to transformation, procurement and B-BBEE regulation;
  • Manage the B-BBEE preparation and auditing process for accreditation by the rating agency;
  • Develop, implement and manage the company's B-BBEE plan and related policies in line with the requirements of the relevant legislation;
  • Present concise B-BBEE actions and agenda to the relevant governance structures and internal stakeholders, highlighting legislation changes that have a potential significant impact on MTN S.A., where necessary;
  • Drive compliance and ensure that the B-BBEE scorecard is monitored and records that relate to the B-BBEE requirements are updated to ensure actions are executed;
  • Improve the B-BBEE scoring achieved, assigning transformation targets to relevant functional areas and departments, monitoring performance against set targets and managing the annual B-BBEE verification process;
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to provide expertise and guidance in line with transformation and implementation guidelines;
  • Ensure accurate records of the supporting evidence are maintained by various functional teams e.g., procurement, HR, Legal, Company Secretary, etc. as required to demonstrate actions around the business B-BBEE activities e.g., list of all businesses that are engaged in the year, BEE status, ownership status, spend
