Requirements:


  • Must have at least 25 years' experience in the freight industry
  • Must be able to handle import
    & export (air & sea) shipments; can be more imports orientated then exports.
  • Must know the Incoterms thoroughly
  • Must know the import & export procedures when handling these files
  • Must be able to liaise with overseas offices to make the necessary shipment arrangements
  • Must be able to arrange necessary documents (Cargo Dues / SI to the shipping lines or coloaders / EUR1 / Certificate of Origins / Phytosanitary Certificates, SADC)
  • Must have a little knowledge on perishable / reefer shipments (document requirements, PPECB inspections, etc)
  • Must know Cargowise
    THIS IS KEY
  • Must be able to do estimates/quotes
  • Must be able to liaise directly with the shipping lines, transporters, Customs, all other suppliers
  • Must be able to liaise directly with the customers (origin & destination)
  • Must be able to arrange insurance, where necessary
  • Effect creditors' disbursements and process debtor's invoices.

Dynamic self-starter that doesn't need to be told what to do and how to do it.

Must be able to work independently

  • Must be able to pay attention to details
    and work under pressure
  • Good problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
