    Description

    Planet Fitness is looking for a Legal Counsel which also include paralegal duties. You will be working closely HODs and attorneys, providing support in various legal tasks.

    Legal Advice and Consultation:

    Provide legal advice to management and other departments.

    Supervise and guide paralegals in legal research and analysis.

    Contract Review and Drafting:

    Review, draft, and negotiate contracts.

    Oversee paralegals in the preparation and organization of contract documentation.

    Compliance:

    Monitor and ensure organizational compliance with laws and regulations.

    Collaborate with paralegals to maintain compliance records and reports.

    Dispute Resolution:

    Manage and resolve legal disputes.

    Coordinate with paralegals in gathering relevant information for litigation support.

    Intellectual Property:

    Protect intellectual property rights.

    Supervise paralegals in conducting preliminary research on intellectual property matters.

    Corporate Governance:

    Assist in corporate governance matters.

    Work with paralegals to maintain corporate records and filings.

    Employee Relations:

    Advise on employment law matters.

    Oversee paralegals in tasks related to employee contracts and terminations.

    Regulatory Affairs:

    Monitor changes in laws and regulations.

    Collaborate with paralegals to ensure regulatory compliance.

    Risk Management:

    Identify and assess legal risks.

    Guide paralegals in supporting risk assessment activities.

    Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility:

    Promote ethical behaviour and corporate social responsibility.

    Collaborate with paralegals on ethics-related research and initiatives.

    Communication:

    Effectively communicate legal advice to non-legal stakeholders.

    Work closely with paralegals to ensure clear communication and coordination.

    Paralegal Duties:

    Legal Research:

    Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law.

    Compile and organize research findings for review.

    Document Preparation:

    Draft legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.

    Assist in the preparation and organization of legal documentation.

    Litigation Support:

    Assist in the preparation of legal documents for litigation.

    Coordinate with attorneys on discovery and case management.

    Record Keeping:

    Maintain and organize legal files and records.

    Assist in managing and updating compliance records.

    Administrative Support:

    Provide administrative support to attorneys.

    Coordinate meetings, schedules, and communications.

    Client Communication:

    Interact with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

    Assist in the communication of legal matters to clients.

    Qualifications

    • law degree, and
    • 2- 5 years of legal experience for the Legal Counsel aspect.
    • Paralegal qualifications would typically include a paralegal certificate or degree, with proficiency in legal research, document drafting, and organizational skills.
    • The ability to work collaboratively with legal teams, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail are crucial for success in both aspects of the role.
