We are seeking a Unit Manager : ICU / Trauma for a permanent role based in East London, Eastern Cape.

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

4-year B.Cur qualification with 3+ years relevant experience in the ICU / Trauma unit
Good patient care and customer service skills
Ability to handle complex or difficult situations

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

Strategic management of patient care activities in the unit
Coordinate patient care, and oversee quality of care initiatives
Teaching / mentoring students and junior staff
HR Management
Control of equipment and pharmaceuticals within the unit
Handle questions and complaints from patients and families
Establish employee policies and procedures
Hold regular staff meetings to give direction and discuss improvement areas
Credit / oversee unit budgets including personnel, supplies and general expenses
