Description

Well established Metal Company (Manufacturing & Engineering) based in Pinetown, Kwa-Zulu Natal requires the services of a QC Supervisor: Assembly & Packaging to join their dynamic team.

This individual specializes in carrying out and implementing systems and procedures that ensure product quality within an organization.

They are primarily responsible for managing schedules to abide by the production timeline, monitoring activities, coordinating with production and quality control personnel, assessing employee performance.

The individual is required to inspect that all elements are assembled and packaged correctly.

The Assembly and Packaging Supervisor works in a factory overseeing the work of a team of assembly and packaging workers.


Requirements:

Matric or equivalent

Attention to detail

Ability to meet deadlines and read job cards

Evaluate the job before being passed on to the next department

Supervise work of other supervisors and keep them up-to-date with their work with the aim that it is completed as per plan

Participate in brainstorming to improve business operations or processes with other managers and employees

Listen to concerns from employees and managers with the aim of improving business operations or processes

Respond to issues brought up by workers and managers

Keep track of training records for new or current workers and make sure that they are up-to-date in terms of compliance with company policies and procedures

Make sure that worker's training needs are being met

Read, write and speak English


Responsibilities:

The Supervisor is required to ensures that workers are productive and that quality standards are met

Trains new workers, develops work schedules

They may work long hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet production deadlines

The work can be physically demanding, and the individual must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time

The Supervisor must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts

Conducts quality control checks

Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources

Re-Organize department daily workflow to improve communication, standardizing work, improving visual management, to increase participation and effectiveness

Required to work closely with the other departments to monitor the flow of production as well as being aligned with production planning and scheduling around orders
